How to Connect your ByBit Unified Trading Account (UTA) with Altrady

Background

Altrady supports Bybit UTA Spot (no margin) and Futures (USDx-perps only).
Although UTA for Spot supports margin trading, Altrady does not support margin trading for Bybit and it must be turned off on the UTA (see below).
If margin trading is left enabled and a margined order is placed on the exchange: the order will often not be editable in Altrady; wallet balances can be negative or incorrect; and margin fees are not shown.

In this article, 2 methods of connecting a Bybit exchange account to Altrady will be described:

Fast Connect, for quick and automatic setup.
Manual Connection, for users who prefer a more hands-on approach.

Fast Connect, simplifies the process by:
Redirecting you to Bybit for a secure login.
Automatically generating, configuring and connecting the Bybit API key (with the correct permissions).
Automatically applying Altrady’s IP whitelist to the API key.

Manual Connection, by contrast, involves:
Manually logging into Bybit.
Manually creating the API key.
Copying and pasting the API and Secret key into Altrady.
Manually setting permissions and pasting Altrady's IP whitelist addresses in Bybit.

Fast Connect: Connect Bybit UTA account to Altrady

Fast Connect is a quick and automated way, to link your Bybit exchange account to the Altrady platform without manually creating and copying API keys and secrets.

Fast Connect is only relevant for new Trading Accounts being connected to Altrady. To update the API key for an existing Trading Account, refer to the end of Step 4 in the following section: Manual Connection: Set up a UTA and Connect it to Altrady

Step-1: In Altrady, click on Settings from the left side panel. Then, click on Exchange Account API Keys.

Step-3: Click +Connect Account.

Step-4: Click on Bybit.

Step-5: Ensure Fast Connect is selected. Choose whether you would like to enable Futures trading on the API key, then click Connect to be redirected to the Bybit log in page.

If you're already logged into Bybit on the same browser, you will not be asked to log in again.

While being redirected to Bybit, the window below will be shown. If the redirect does not occur automatically, or if it takes a long time, the "Bybit Fast Connect" button can be clicked to expedite the process.

Step-6: Choose the login method, then enter the email address or phone number for the Bybit account, followed by its password, then click Log in.

If there is an Altrady Fast Connect API key that already exists in Bybit and not in Altrady, the Fast Connect API keys will be immediately created in Altrady after logging in. Only the windows in Step 10 below will be shown after login, in that case.

Step-7: Complete the security verification as requested by Bybit.

Step-8: The following message will be shown by Bybit, requesting authorization to enable the creation of the Fast Connect API key. Tick the relevant box and click Confirm to continue.

Step-9: On the next window, the permissions that are to be enabled on the key will be shown.** Click Confirm** to proceed further and create Fast Connect API key.**Altrady's IP whitelist will be automatically linked to the created API key.**

A Spot Trading Account will be created in Altrady by default, with the correct permissions. Whether a Futures Trading Account is created as well, will depend on whether the exchange account has access to Futures trading and whether "Enable Futures Account" was selected in Step 5.

To view permissions for Spot trading and Futures trading, refer to Step 4 here: Manual Connection: Set up a UTA and Connect it to Altrady

The window below will only be shown when a Bybit Fast Connect API key is being created for the first time.

Step-10: The messages below will be shown on the redirect page and in Altrady, if the Fast Connect API key was created successfully.

Message on the redirect page, stating that the Fast Connect API key was created successfully
Message in Altrady, stating that the Fast Connect API key was successfully created

Step-11: The newly connected Trading Accounts can then be viewed from the Exchange Account API Keys page.

The default names of the Fast Connect Trading Accounts can be changed at any time by clicking "Edit" and changing the "Account Label".

The Fast Connect API key in Bybit will be created with no name attached to it, as shown below.

Step-11: If your balance is not displayed immediately, refer to the video on Step 6 in the following section: Manual Connection: Set up a UTA and Connect it to Altrady. The video shows how to sync your exchange account balance with Altrady.
