Understanding the "Chart" Widget of Altrady (Part 3)
Easy to use and intuitive, the chart widget of Altrady not only shows you the real-time prices and market movements but also provides you with cutting-edge tools to help you make informed trading decisions. With the help of the chart widget, price points can be traces, comments can be inserted, texts can be placed and figures can be drawn, among other functions.

How to Change the Cursor Type
Step -1: To change the cursor type, click on the Cursor option, located at the top of the left-side toolbar and select the desired cursor type from the dropdown menu.
The following cursor types are available in the tool's menu:
- Cross
- Dot
- Arrow
- Eraser
How to Use the Trend Line Tools
Step -1: To use the trend line tool, click on the Trend Line option in the left-side toolbar.
Step - 2: If you want to use a different type of Trend Line and/or see the full list of options available, click on the arrow next to it.
The following trend lines are available in the tool's menu:
- Trend line
- Ray
- Info Line
- Extended Line
- Trend Angle
- Horizontal Line
- Horizontal Ray
- Vertical Line
- Cross Line
- Parallel Channel
- Flat Top/Bottom
- Disjoint Channel
- Pitchfork
- Schiff Pitchfork
- Modified Schiff Pitchfork
Step -2: Once you have selected your desired trend line, click on the chart and draw the trend line to your liking.
Step -3: To change the trend line settings, click on the Settings icon that appears on the trendline's toolbar, or right-click on the trend line then click on Settings.
Step - 4: **Once you click on the **Settings option, the Trend line settings dialog would be displayed with three tabs: Style, Coordinates, and Visibility, as shown below:
How to Use Gann and Fibonacci Tools
Step -1: To use the Fib Retracement tool, click on the Fib Retracement tool option in the left-side toolbar. For how to see more options related to the tool, skip to Step 2.
Step - 2: To see more options, click on the arrow next to the **Fib Retracement **tool.
The following Fibonacci and Gann tools are available:
- Fib Retracement
- Trend-based Fib Extension
- Fib Channel
- Fib Time Zone
- Fib Speed Resistance Fan
- Trend-Based Fib Time
- Fib Circles
- Fib Spiral
- Fib Speed Resistance Arcs
- Fib Wedge
- Pitchfan
- Gann Box
- Gann Square Fixed
- Gann Square
- Gann Fan
Step -3: Once you have selected your desired Gann/Fibonacci tool, click on the desired area on the chart to display it.
Step - 4: To change the Gann and Fibonacci tool settings, click on the Settings icon in the tool's toolbar or right-click on the shape that you drew, then click on Settings.
Step - 5: **Once you click on the Settings option, Gann and Fibonacci tool settings dialog would be displayed with three tabs: **Style, coordinates, and visibility as shown below:
- Style- Under the style setting, the appearance of the drawn tool can be changed.
- Coordinates- Under the coordinates tab, the position of the annotation’s points on the price scale can be set, by setting the price and setting the bar number.
- Visibility- Under the visibility tab, the drawn tool can be configured with different timeframes (e.g. minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months)
How to Draw Patterns on the Chart
Step -1: To draw an XABCD Pattern on the chart, click on the corresponding icon in the left-side toolbar.
Step - 2: **If you want to draw a **different type of pattern, click on the arrow next to the icon, to see all the available options.
The following pattern options are available in the chart widget:
- XABCD Pattern
- Cypher Pattern
- Head and Shoulders
- ABCD Pattern
- Triangle Pattern
- Three Drives Pattern
- Elliott Impulse Wave
- Elliott Correction Wave
- Elliott Triangle Wave
- Elliot Double Combo Wave
- Elliott Triple Combo Wave
- Cyclic Lines
- Time Cycles
- Sine Line
Step -2: Once you have selected your desired pattern type, click on the chart and draw the pattern to your liking.
Step -3: To change the pattern settings, click on the Settings icon in the pattern's toolbar. Alternatively, right-click on the pattern, then click Settings.
Step - 4: **Once you click on the settings option, the pattern settings dialog would be displayed with three tabs: **Style, Coordinates, and Visibility, as shown below:
- Style: Under the style tab, the appearance of the drawn pattern can be changed.
- Coordinates: Under the coordinates tab, the position of the pattern’s end points on the price scale can be changed, by setting the price and setting the bar number.
- Visibility- Under the visibility tab, the drawn tool can be configured with different timeframes (e.g. minutes, hours, days, weeks, months).
How to Use the Forecasting and Measurement Tools
Step -1: To use the Long Position tool click on the corresponding icon in the left-side toolbar.
Step - 2: To see more tool options, click on the arrow next to the corresponding icon.

Step - 3: Once you have selected your desired prediction/measurement tool, click on the desired area on the chart to display it.
Step - 4: To change the tool's settings, click on the Settings icon in its toolbar. Alternatively, right-click on the tool in the chart, then click Settings.
Step - 5: **Once you click on the Settings option, the prediction and measurement tool settings dialog would be displayed with three tabs: **Inputs, Style, and Visibility, as shown below:
- Inputs: Under the inputs tab, you can control the specific settings of the forecasting/measurement tool.
- Style: Under the style tab, you can customize the appearance of the prediction/measurement drawn.
- Visibility: Under the visibility tab, you can set the shape with different timeframes (e.g. minutes, hours, days, weeks, months)
How to Use the Geometric Shapes Tool
Step -1: To use the Brush tool, click on the corresponding icon on the left-side toolbar.
Step - 2: To see more options for drawing geometric shapes, click on the arrow next to the corresponding icon.
The following options are available in the tool's menu:
- Brush
- Highlighter
- Arrow Market
- Arrow
- Arrow Mark Up
- Arrow Mark Down
- Arrow Mark Left
- Arrow Mark Right
- Rectangle
- Rotated Rectangle
- Path
- Circle
- Ellipse
- Polyline
- Triangle
Step - 3: Once you have selected your desired geometric shape, click on the chart and draw the geometric shape to your liking.
Step - 4: To change the geometric shapes settings, click on the Settings **icon in the tool's toolbar. Alternatively, right-click on the geometric shape that you drew on the chart then click on **Settings.
Step - 5: **Once you click on the Settings option, the Geometric shapes settings dialog would be displayed with three tabs: **Style, Coordinates, and Visibility, as shown below:
- Style- Under the style setting, the appearance of the shape/line can be changed.
- Coordinates- Under the coordinates setting, the position of the shape’s end points on the price scale can be changed, by setting the price and the time axis with the bar number.
- Visibility- Under the visibility setting, shapes can be set with different timeframes.
How to Use the Annotation Tools
Step -1: To use the Text tool, click on the corresponding icon in the left-side toolbar.
Step - 2: ** To see **more options, click on the arrow next to the corresponding icon.
The following annotation types are available in the chart widget:
- **Text **- allows writing of any text, directly on the chart.
- Anchored text- anchored text box is just like the standard text box, except that it is anchored to the screen. It will stay visible on the chart and doesn’t scroll with a series, no matter how far into the past or future the chart is scrolled.
- Note: allows the addition of text notes directly on the chart.
- Anchored note: anchors a note to the chart.
- Callout: creates a text box that points to a specific point.
- Comment: allows the placement of a comment on the chart, with your specified text.
- Price label: allows you to highlight a specific price on the chart.
- **Price note: **allows you to draw a line on the chart, and leave a note with the price, from where the line was started.
- Signpost: assigns a text box with pre-defined text, to any candle on the chart.
- Flag mark: allows the marking of points of significance on the chart.
Step -2: Once you have selected your desired annotation type, click on the desired area on the chart to display it.
Step -3: To change the annotation's settings, click on the Settings icon in the tool's toolbar. Alternatively, right-click on the annotation, then click Settings.
Step - 4: **Once you click on the Settings option, the Annotations settings dialog would be displayed with three tabs: **Style, Coordinates, and Visibility, as shown below:
- Style: Under the style setting, the appearance of the annotations can be changed.
- Coordinates: Under coordinate setting, the position of the annotation’s points on the price scale can be changed, by setting the price and the time axis with the bar number.
- Visibility: Under visibility setting, the shape can be set with different timeframes (e.g. minutes, hours, days, weeks, months)
How to use the Icon Tool
Step - 1: To see all available icons, click on the corresponding button in the left-side toolbar.
The following icon types are available:
- Emojis
- Stickers
- Icons
Step - 2: Once you have selected your desired icon type and icon, click on the desired area on the chart to display it.
Step -3: To change the icon's settings, click on the Settings **icon in the icon's toolbar. Alternatively, right-click on the icon, then click **Settings.
Step - 4: Once you click on the Settings option, the icon settings window will be displayed with the **Visibility **tab. Different icons may have more tabs.
How to Use the Measure Tool
Step -1: To use the measure tool, click on the measure tool icon in the left-side toolbar and click at the starting point of the area you want to know more about in the chart and then at the end point of that area.
How to Zoom In and Out of the Price Chart
Step -1: To get a better overview of the price level and market movements, zoom in on the chart by selecting the area you want to look closer at. To zoom in, select the zoom in magnifying glass icon in the left-side toolbar and click and hold at the starting point of the area you want to know more about in the chart, then drag it up to the end point of that area.
Step -2: Click on the Zoom out magnifying glass icon in the left-side toolbar to zoom out of the price chart.
How to Use The Magnet Tool
Step -1: To use the magnet tool, click on the Magnet button in the left-side toolbar.
Step - 2: To see more options pertaining to the magnet tool, click on the arrow next to the corresponding icon.
The following magnet mode types are available:
- Weak magnet: snaps the drawing points to the price bars when drawing near them.
- Strong magnet: snaps the drawing points to the price bars regardless of the distance between those points and chart values.
How to Use the Stay in Drawing Mode Tool
Step -1: To use the stay in drawing mode tool, click on the Stay in Drawing Mode button in the left-side toolbar. Next, select your desired drawing tool, from the left-side toolbar.
Step -2: Once you have clicked on the Stay in drawing mode button and selected your desired Drawing tool, click on the chart and draw multiple drawings to your liking.
How to Lock/Unlock all Drawings
Step -1: To lock all the drawings on the chart, click on the Lock All Drawings Tools icon in the left-side toolbar.
Step -2: To unlock all the locked drawings on the chart, click on the Lock All Drawing Tools icon again, in the left-side toolbar.
How to Hide All Drawings
Step -1: To hide all the drawings on the chart, click on the Hide all drawings icon in the left-side toolbar.
Step- 2: To unhide all the hidden drawings on the chart, click on the Hide all drawings icon again in the left-side toolbar.
How to Remove All Drawings
Step -1: To remove all the drawings from the chart, click on the **Remove **drawing tool button in the left-side toolbar. This will immediately remove all drawings from the chart.
Step - 2: **To see more options, **click on the arrow next to the corresponding icon.
- Remove drawings tool: This option would **only **remove the drawings from the chart, as shown below:
- Remove indicators: This option would **only **remove the indicators from the chart, as shown below:
- Remove drawings and indicators: This option would remove both drawings and indicators from the chart, as shown below:
