Introduction

Cryptocurrency markets can be volatile, with price movements happening rapidly. Alerts provide a crucial way to monitor these changes without needing constant attention to the markets. By setting up alerts, traders can be notified about price movements, trendline breaches, and candle close events, allowing them to take action in real time.

Benefits of Using Alerts

Timely Notifications: Stay updated on price changes without monitoring the chart continuously.
Risk Management: Avoid missing critical price points that could affect trading strategies.
Customisation: Tailor alerts to suit different strategies, whether you prefer to focus on short-term price movements or long-term trendlines.

New: Bar (candle) Close alerts
From v4.6, Alerts based on the price at the close of the bar are available for both price alerts and trendline alerts. Choose the appropriate Trigger option when creating the alert (see Settings).
Also from v4.6, recurring alerts are linked to the selected bar resolution, e.g. once per hour, or once per minute.

Types of Alerts

There are two types of alerts available in Altrady: Price Alerts and Trendline Alerts.

Alert TypeDescriptionUse Case
Price AlertsTrigger when the price is touched or crossed.Monitor specific price levels for buy/sell decisions.
Trendline AlertsTrigger when a drawn trendline is crossed by the price. Although a trendline is drawn with a start and end point, for the purpose of alerts, the line is assumed to extend to the right indefinitely.Follow key trendline movements to track breakouts.

Price Alert (triggered by a single price) and Trendline alert (triggered by crossing a drawn trendline)

Add a new Alert

Four ways to create an alert 1. Alert shortcut (price alert) 2. Chart right-click menu (price alert) 3. Alerts widget (price or trendline alert) 4. After drawing a trendline, from the drawing menu (trendline alert)

The Alert shortcut at the top of the chart is a quick way to add a price alert.
Drag the price handle to the desired level.
Add additional settings in the Alerts widget (see below)
Save the alert by clicking either Save in the Alerts widget; or clicking the solid part of the alert price handle.

Another quick way to add a price alert, right-click on the chart at the desired price, and select Create New Alert from the menu.
Then follow the remaining instructions in #1 above.

On the Alerts widget, create either a Price or Trendline alert.

Draw a trendline on the chart using the Trendline drawing option.
Enable the Alert option on the trendline toolbar (as in the image above).
The Alerts widget will be opened. Follow the remaining instructions in #1 above.
