Trading Widget Settings

The Trading Widget Settings control:

  • all settings related to the trading widget
  • access to the Smart trading tutorial
  • the columns available for PnL on the Dashboard positions list and My Positions

This article describes where to access the Trading Widget Settings, and what each of the settings is used for.

How to open the Trading Widget Settings

With the trading widget selected, click on the cog icon at the top right of the widget group.

Settings

This section outlines what each setting controls.

  1. Widget mode: The Trading widget has two modes, Simple and Advanced. Toggle between them at any time here.

Simple mode is a cut-down version of the trading widget, including the most commonly used functions only: one entry, one Take Profit order, plus Stop Loss. It is the default mode for new users who selected Beginner or Intermediate during Onboarding. More details: Trading Widget: Simple Mode
Advanced mode includes the full range of entry orders (including Stop orders, OCO, Ladders); the options to add multiple entry orders at once; multiple TPs; all types of Stop Loss; and automated controls for starting, expiring and closing a smart order after a period of time. It is the default mode for new users who selected Advanced during Onboarding. More details: Trading Widget: Advanced Mode

  1. Show Position Controls: When enabled, the Position Controls are shown at the top of the Trading widget if there is an open position, or a Pending position (smart position where the entry has not yet filled). See image below. More details: Position Management and Controls

  1. Preferred profit: used to switch between two modes: Unrealised or Net Profit.

This affects the columns shown on My Positions, and the Dashboard>Positions. The list of columns for each option is shown below.

  1. Ask before creating position

Altrady automatically creates a position in these circumstances:

  • a smart order is created
  • a signal or grid bot position is created
  • an open amount exists on a futures pair

This setting controls whether Altrady creates a position automatically on spot pairs created when a regular order is placed (not smart orders).

  • Set to Yes to be asked before each time Altrady creates a position in this scenario. A modal: Create a Position?" will be shown, with 3 options.
  • Set to No to avoid a position being created in this scenario. You can always create a position later in the Position Info widget.

The modal appears after clicking Place Order, and after clicking Confirm (if Confirm orders is enabled) and is shown below.
Choose Edit to go back to the Trading widget to add a Take Profit or SL order to the entry order. This will result in a smart order and create a smart position.
Choose No to continue without creating a position.
Choose Yes to create a manual position ("spot" or "futures" depending on the exchange type).
If you tick Don't ask me again, then in the Trading widget settings, Ask before creating position will be set to No.

  1. Automatically create spot positions

Set to Yes for a new manual position to be created automatically (i.e. without you being asked as in #4).
This applies to spot pairs where a new regular order (not a smart order) is filled and there is no manual position already open.
The new position will be shown in Position Info widget, My Positions and the Dashboard.

  1. Confirm before placing orders

Choose Yes for a confirmation modal to be shown after clicking Place Order. The Confirmation shows all of the order details.
Choose No to skip the confirmation modal.

  1. Smart Trading Tutorial

The tutorial can be accessed from here at any time. This walks you through placing a smart order in the Trading widget. If it doesn't start automatically, reload the page (browser) or the app (View menu>Force Reload). And retry.

  1. Reset

Reset will change the settings back to the defaults. Only the first four settings have default values, and these are shown below.
