Understanding the "Chart" Widget of Altrady (Part 1)

The chart widget displays the real-time trade for the selected market. With the help of the chart widget, how the market is performing at the the time of the most recent trade, can be visualized.

How to Activate the Chart Widget



Step - 1: To activate the chart widget, open the Trading Terminal in Altrady, click on the Widgets button and tick the Chart option.





The chart widget will appear on the screen, as shown below:



The chart widget can also be resized as desired. To resize the chart widget, drag it from right-to-left or from bottom-to-up. The full size view of the chart widget will display all the widget's toolbar icon names in detail.



There is no fixed position of the widgets as they can be populated and dragged anywhere on the interface based on the available space and the number of widgets already activated.

The widgets of Altrady can be dragged and organized anywhere on the interface as desired. For more information click here.

How to Set Time Interval



A. Select Time Interval


Step - 1: Click on the Time Interval button in the widget's toolbar to open the time interval dropdown.


Step - 2: Select the desired time interval from the dropdown:


B. Add Time Interval to Favorites


Step - 1: Once you select the desired time interval, click on the Star icon appearing next to the interval option.



Step - 2: Once you mark interval as your favorite, the corresponding button will be added to the chart.



How to Set Chart Type



Step - 1: Click on the Current chart type button in the widget's toolbar.



Step - 2: Select the desired Chart Type from the dropdown:



Step - 3: Click on Star icon next to the type name to add it to the favorites.


Step - 4: The corresponding button will be added to the toolbar. Click on this button to switch to the any of Chart Type want.



How to Create or Add Symbol



Step - 1: Click on the Plus ( + ) button in the widget's toolbar. A dialog box will appear on the console displaying a Compare symbol tab. Once there, you can search for your symbol and select it from the list that appears.



Step - 2: After selecting your desired symbol, you will see it added to your chart.



How to Add an Indicator



A. Add Chart Indicators


A.1. To Add Indicator

Step - 1: Click on Indicator button in the widget's toolbar to add an indicator to the chart widget.



Step - 2: After selecting any of the indicators from the dialog box shown above, you will see that the indicator has been added to your chart.



You can press the forward slash key (i.e "/") to open the dialog box, where you can search for and select indicators.

A.2. To Configure Indicator

Step - 1: Click on the indicator's settings button in the chart to open the configuration window.


Step - 2: In the following window, you can make changes to the indicator's settings as desired.



Step - 3: Click on the OK button to save the configuration.



Input fields of indicators may vary depending on the indicator and some indicators also don't have the input tabs.

B. Indicator Template


B.1. To save Indicator Template

Step - 1: Once you add chart indicators, click on Save Indicator Template button to start saving the indicator template.


Step - 2: Enter template name and hit the Save button.



B.2. To Remove Indicator Template

Step - 1: Click on the Save Indicator Template button, which will display list of your saved indicator templates.



Step - 2: Hover the mouse pointer to the template name then click on X button to remove it.


Step - 3: You will be asked to confirm whether you want to delete the indicator template, on the next window. Click Yes, to delete it.



B.3. Add Indicator Template to Favorites

Step - 1: Click on the Save Indicator Template button, which will display list of previously created templates.



Step - 2: Hover the mouse pointer to the template name then click on the Star to add it to favorites.


A corresponding button will be created and appear in the chart's toolbar. When hovering over it with your mouse pointer, you will see the name of the saved indicator template displayed.



How to Create an Alert



It's easy to create an alert, but there is a precondition that must be fulfilled:

Alerts widget is active.

There are three methods for creating an alert:

A. Using context menu


Step - 1: In the chart widget, hover your mouse in the middle of the screen, as you monitor the price selection on the right.


Step - 2: Once you've found the price at which you want to create an alert for, right-click on an empty space on the chart, while your chosen price is displayed on the right. Click Create New Alert, and an alert at that price will be immediately saved on your chart.

Step - 3: to change the price that your alert was created at, click on the alert once, use the white part of the handle to drag it to your desired price, then click on the blue part of the alert handle, to save the changes.



B. Using Alert Button


Step - 1: Click on the Alert button in the chart widget.


Step - 2: The Alerts widget will open, allowing you to choose the type of alert, along with other alert parameters. Once you're ready to save the alert, click Save. You will then see the alert saved on your chart.


Note: if the Alerts widget is not activated from the Widgets menu, it will not be opened automatically.

Price alerts can also be dragged up and down on the chart to change their price.

C. Using Hotkey (Shift + A)


Step - 1: In the chart widget, press Shift + A keys. A handle bar will be created and shown on your chart, and the Alerts widget will be automatically opened ( if activated). Drag the handle bar up/down to set the alert at the desired price.


Step - 2: Click the Save button in the Alerts widget, to post the alert. Alternatively, click on the blue part of the alert handle, to save it.


If the alerts widget is not active, you can also click on the blue part of the handle bar, to save the alert.
