Custom Alerts: Price, Time and Trendline
Introduction
Cryptocurrency markets can be volatile, with price movements happening rapidly. Custom alerts provide a crucial way to monitor these changes without needing constant attention to the markets. By setting up alerts, traders can be notified about price movements, trendline breaches, and candle close events, allowing them to take action in real time.
This guide steps through the process of creating, managing, and customising the three types of custom alerts in Altrady: price, time, and trendline.

Benefits of Using Alerts
Timely Notifications : Stay updated on price changes without monitoring the chart continuously.
Risk Management : Avoid missing critical price points that could affect trading strategies.
Customisation : Tailor alerts to suit different strategies, whether you prefer to focus on short-term price movements or long-term trendlines.
Send a webhook signal: Altrady alerts can be used to send a webhook signal to an Altrady signal bot or an external url to open, increase, close or reverse a position.
New: Bar (candle) Close alerts
From v4.6, Alerts based on the price at the close of the bar are available for both price alerts and trendline alerts. Choose the appropriate Trigger option when creating the alert (see Settings ).
Also from v4.6, recurring alerts are linked to the selected bar resolution, e.g. once per hour, or once per minute.
Additionally, alerts based on time are now available, linked to a specific market.
Types of Alerts
There are three types of alerts available in Altrady: Price Alerts, Time Alerts and Trendline Alerts.
Alert Type | Description | Use Case |
---|---|---|
Price Alerts | Trigger when the price is touched or crossed. | Monitor specific price levels for buy/sell decisions. |
Time Alerts | Trigger when the specified time is reached. | Never miss a reminder, by keeping all alerts in one place. |
Trendline Alerts | Trigger when a drawn trendline is crossed by the price. Although a trendline is drawn with a start and end point, for the purpose of alerts, the line is assumed to extend to the right indefinitely. | Follow key trendline movements to track breakouts. |

This guide walks through the step-by-step process of creating, managing, and customising alerts in Altrady. It also explains the different alert types, customisation options, and best practices.
Alert Customisation
To customise which components are shown for a price alert, click the Settings button within the Chart widget to access the Chart settings.

Trendline Alert Customisation
Use the Trendline toolbar to customise trendline alerts and the associated trendline.
Open the toolbar by clicking the trendline.

Extend the trendline to the right
The trendline alert extends beyond its endpoints, which allows alerts to remain active even after the endpoint is reached. To reflect this in how the trendline is drawn, from the Trendline toolbar select Settings (i.e. cog icon) > Style, and enable Extend right line.
This should only be used with a Label position of Left.
Change the Label position in the Trendline toolbar > Settings (i.e. cog icon) > Text.
Options are: Top/Bottom, Left/Centre/Right. After editing the trendline settings, click Save in the Alerts widget.
Customise Alert Notifications
Notification Customisation:
Sound notifications can be set, so as to alert you whenever the conditions for the alert are met. Options for sound, volume, push and email notifications can be customised.

Push Notification | The notification will be included in the Notifications list in the app (desktop, browser and mobile).
